Okay. This is the Grammar Cop. And I’m ordering you to reconsider using “literally.” Why? Well, it’s not being used correctly. That article is old but its stance is still totally appropriate today.
I think my favorite misuse of the word was in an article (that I need to find) in which a sports writer said that a pitcher was “literally” putting an opponent in the electric chair. Say, did they change the rules of baseball that much?
I think this is literally out of hand.
