Back when it was a new thing, I thought the Food Network show Unwrapped was pretty cool. With Marc Summers as host, people were given new insights into just how things were made. But I must admit that it has pretty much run its course on me; there are just so many times you can see candy get coated with sugar.
That’s why I was happy to find foodreference.com, which has an incredible amount of articles and trivia. Sadly there’s just one stat for the food we really care about here at the Ping, the Oreo:
Nabisco produced 16 billion Oreo cookies in 1995 at its factory in Chicago, Illinois, the largest of its kind in the world.
So there you have it. Take a browse through the site and see if you find something equally interesting and/or esoteric, and maybe you’ll win $1 million on Jeopardy! too.
