For as long as there’s been music, there’ve been funny singers and bands. When I think of humorous music, for example, “Weird Al” Yankovic always comes to mind. But I also think of the funny bands of the 90s and early 00s: those that were one-hit wonders, or those with long careers who happened to get some radio play.
For example:
- Ween. This duo got popular with the annoying-as-hell yet sometimes funny-as-hell “Push the Little Daisies.” (You remember it! C’mon!) They’re still at it, and most of their stuff seems to be wildly hit-or-miss.
- Barenaked Ladies. BNL, as “insiders” call them, have been around for quite some time but hit it big with wacky songs like “Brian Wilson” and “If I Had $1,000,000.” Undoubtedly their staying power was measured by the inclusion of “One Week” in a Mitsubishi commercial.
- Bloodhound Gang. Three words: “The Bad Touch.”
Got any others?

Well not a band, but MC Paul Barman is a riot. He was the first rapper to use palindromes in his rhymes. Not only is he funny, but he can rap pretty well surprisingly. Example, “My dandy voice makes the most anti-choice grannies panties moist.” Check him out.

The Salesmen are very funny. Only cubicles in their offices so they must be funny.
