I was sad to see that Captain Kangaroo died yesterday.
As I was growing up, Captain Kangaroo was a big part of my weekend mornings. His shows were entertaining and really, really good for kids without being violent, offensive, or brainless (as many of today’s are.) In fact a quote in the article shows how much the Captain, Bob Keeshan, disliked the current state of children’s programming.
The Captain and Mr. Green Jeans will be sorely missed, much like Mr. Rogers.
