Apparently, the Google Number is starting to make a splash in certain circles. (Circles with nothing better to do than make up things like “Google Numbers.” But I’ll play along.)
It works like this. Search for your name with Google, encasing it in quotes. The number of results returned (even if they’re not you) is your Google Number. There’s a scale on the page above to determine just how, uh, number-y you are.
Me? I rank between “You are getting some real attention” and “You are well known in your field.” That seems about right.
