Froogle

At the end of last week, Google launched a new service: Froogle. If you can imagine a Google for products sold online… well… this is it.

At first I was a bit skeptical of its uses. I did a fair amount of Christmas shopping via Amazon this year (as always), and due strictly to Amazon’s site, found their search tool quite useful. Froogle seemed almost redundant of Amazon’s search, early on. But Froogle scours the entire web for merchants and products – making it, well, the Google of online shopping.

Google is an indispensible tool. I think Froogle could easily become just as useful.
