When I was using Mapquest (and Yahoo! Maps and Mapsonus) yesterday I realized one simple feature I’d love to see on the driving directions results page: each instruction linked to a large map, large enough to make out the streets before and after a particular turn. Mapquest has a buried feature that allows you to show thumbnail maps for each turn, but I’d like to be able to see the equivalent information that I’d get if I looked in a paper road atlas.
Other than this minor complaint, online mapping is still one of my favorite Internet applications.
