I’ve always been a side sleeper, preferring my right side. I can occasionally fall asleep on my back (or even sitting up), but it’s a rare time that I’ll sleep on my stomach. According to Dribbleglass.com, 43% of us sleep on our backs, which represents calm and general well-being (though I slightly question Dribbleglass’ veracity). Side-sleeping is also popular, shows signs of a growing stress, while sleeping on one’s stomach is indicative of “hidden aggression.” Pregnant women can sleep on their back, but should do so with a wedge or pillow underneath for extra support.
Interestingly, in high school, when I’d go back to sleep in the morning, I’d sleep in the so-called “Deathwish Position,” something I always thought was odd. And I know for a fact that Pinger Robert sleeps in the second-to-last position listed on the above page.
In all seriousness, though, a surprising number of things have been written about sleep positions. There are even religious connotations to the way you sleep. For instance, many Buddhists believe that sleeping on your right side is the most harmonious way to sleep. Good news for me and my quest for nirvana!
Sleep well, Pingers.

Hi,
The yogic sleep on the right side because this position supports the breath to flow more freely through the left nostril. The breath through the lest nostril supports activities in the body/mind that are peaceful, relaxing, sentient and in case of sleep sound peaceful deep sleep.
Lying on the left side supports the flow through the right nostril which is associated with digestion and physical activity.
If you eat late is good to lie on the left side for a while before turning over …but better not to eat too late anyway.
Regards,
Didi
