I spend too much time on the net. (Everyone: “Duh!”)
Last night, as part of my dream, I was reading in a newspaper that, yes, I’d secured the rights to the .com, .net, and .org of a popular acronym – NCA. The paper noted this was a momentous event, as people “rarely” register all three domain names at once.
And, in the dream, I remembered back to the time of registration. The domain names were previously owned by some sort of ugly corporate conglomerate, and I thought I was doing a public service by buying the names – one of which I was turning over to the NCA.
So what is the NCA? I didn’t know outside the dreamworld. But NCA could be the National Caving Association, the National Center on Accessibility, or the National Communication Association.
What’s really odd is that nca.com is for sale, as is nca.net. nca.org is taken but not actively for sale. Weird. -pm
