Fifth Grade: Beer Power!

In an attempt to lighten things up a bit, here’s a picture I came across of a small subset of my fifth grade class (I’m not in this shot, nor do I know who took it), dating back to 1986/87:

Ryan's Fifth Grade Class

Notice in the background: an Ace Computer, one of the first Apple II compatibles. It was on that computer that I played Transylvania and wrote some of my best BASIC programs (like the infamous “Mating Game,” which randomly paired up males and females from our fifth grade class).

One more thing to take special note of: Bobby, the furthest person to the right side of the photo, is wearing a black shirt that says “Beer Power” with pictures of beer bottles. It was his favorite shirt. For some reason, I don’t think that shirt would fly in a fifth grade class today. -ram

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
