This is an actual story of stupidity taken to astonishing levels.
A Queens, NY school board member took a tour of some of the schools in District 30 and was astonished at the state of the bathrooms. The kids didn’t have TP, soap, or towels. He decided that this problem was easily enough fixed: require more frequent stocking of the bathrooms, so he put it up for a vote.
His proposition was defeated 6-2.
Why? On reason, according to this article: “… students might clog up bathrooms with toilet paper or could throw the soap at each other.”
Um… OK. Just don’t ask me to shake any of these kids’ hands. -ram
