OK, kids: what was the best Sierra Quest game?
The very first time I came across this style of game, naturally, was with Leisure Suit Larry. King’s Quest was the oldest of them all, the granddaddy, and I remember reading in a Sierra newsletter how soon 3-D technology would grace that series.
For me, the first encounter was with Police Quest, a great series of games in which you took on the role of a cop. Well done, well crafted; Open Season is the title that began to take the fun out of it, though.
But when it came to fun, my pick was easily the Space Quest series. It hit all the right notes: sci-fi based (loosely), loads of humor, challenging but not impossible (Myst!)… I played nearly every Space Quest game at the time, in stunning new VGA graphics, and loved all 22 disks’ worth.

deus ex is the modern continuity of those games, I think. GREAT game.
