Library Tales

One new blog I’ve been enjoying is Love the Liberry, which takes the classic approach to simple blogging. The author serves up stories from a public library from the point of view of the librarians. Some samples:

“A customer asked me for my number – and looked me all the way up and down from head to toe – while checking out a book titled The Christian Way to Be Happily Married. No, thank you.”

I found an asthma inhaler by the print station and made an announcement for the person to come pick it up. Pretty soon a young woman showed up and said “Oh my gosh, thank you! I’m always losing things. I’ve lost two packs of cigarettes in the last three days!”

My favorite, though, are the tales of Laundry Guy, a guy who loves to chat about laundry and dishwashing:

LG: Can I ask you something?
Me: Sure.
LG: Say you have a comforter, twin size, and two sheets, twin size, and you put them in the dryer at setting 60, high heat, casual press. When you open the door, will it be really, really warm?

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
