Spam Books

An article in Fortune highlights a true first world problem: spam books on Amazon.

Lots of titles are affected. Doing a search for a common title – or part of it – often brings up a knock-off book as the first result. Sound familiar? Yeah, it’s kind of like search engine spam. But now it’s with books.

The books are self-published, sometimes through one of Amazon’s own tools. So if you’re interested in writing The Girl with the Tattoo Dragon, Blunk, or A Million Pieces, you’re in luck! Although, really, it’s only a matter of time until Amazon takes care of this. I hope.

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
