TV studios and cable companies can bite me

Video On Demand through one’s cable service, in theory, is great. Miss a TV show? No problem, just catch it on demand. But let’s say you want to catch an hour-long show from FOX on demand. You start it on a Friday night and go to finish it on a Sunday night. Two problems:

1. After a day, Video On Demand conveniently forgets what point in the show you’re at. Because it takes oh so much memory to store four digits.

2. FOX and other networks often completely disable fast forwarding with VOD shows.

So, this means on Sunday night, you not only have to start your show over, you can’t even fast forward to the point where you were at on Friday. Talk about freaking annoying.

No wonder people are fleeing cable for Hulu and Netflix.

This is a deal-breaker to me. I’ll actually choose to pony up two bucks and rent something from Apple TV rather than deal with this. User-hostile big industry BS.

What is this then?
