As some of you may remember from the height of their US popularity in the 1980s, Menudo was a Puerto Rican boy band that had a revolving cast of members. Once a member got to be a certain age, they were out and someone else new was brought in. The most famous ex-Menudoite, of course, is Ricky Martin, though Ray Acevedo was always dreamy to me. And, don’t forget, they appeared on Silver Spoons, too.
So, here’s my brilliant idea involving Menudo.
Menudo has released dozens of albums and rotated through dozens of members over the last 34 years. What about getting all the living ex-Menudo members together and doing a massive “We Are the World”-style song? Except instead of being about world hunger, it could be about how, girl, I love you.
I would totally buy the 45 of that.
