Gas Price Watch, 2011 Edition

Gas prices have been on the rise again lately, so I thought it would be prudent (and easy!) to present another Ping Gas Price Watch Check Survey. This time, I’m including historical data. Whew!

Prices are per gallon for regular gas at my usual station, or thereabouts.

You can see that outside of 2009, things have gone up each year one of us has posted about it – pricing has more than doubled in the last 11 years, not accounting for inflation.

As a side note, I suggested my gas price breaking point would be $3/gallon back in 2004. But clearly, it wasn’t.

For reference, gas is averaging $4.29 in my neck of the woods now.

What is this then?
