In my first couple of jobs out of college, I’d often plug in my headphones and stream SomaFM. Their Groove Salad channel, in particular, had a great mix of ambient-ish music for coding and designing.
I’m pleased to report many years later that Soma is still going strong! Indie Pop Rocks and Groove Salad are my favorites, for sure, and I’m constantly exposed to new music. Commercial-free, listener-supported, and other hyphenated adjectives apply. They have a wide variety of radio stations available, so give ’em a try.
