What was the last TV show that you hated the first time you saw it and then enjoyed upon further viewing (assuming you’d subject yourself to something you thought you hated multiple times)?
For me, it’s Modern Family. The characters seemed forced, I hated how each episode ended all happy, and the Office-style faux-documentary style filming is getting played out, yet after a couple more episodes, I started to like the characters and enjoyed the goofy, unrealistic humor.

Easy, *Seinfeld*.
My family was a test family for NBC in the late 80’s/early 90’s. We saw the pilots to plenty of crappy shows over the years. One of the last ones was *Seinfeld*.
I think because the show was so different than anything else on TV, we just didn’t get it. (Plus, the show didn’t really hit all cylinders till season 3, IMO) Why does Kramer just barge into Jerry’s place? Who eats cereal all day? These were things that bugged us.
When NBC called the next day to do the survey, it was panned, and I remember the NBC woman telling my mom, “Don’t worry, I doubt you’ll see this show again, it’s getting terrible reviews.”
Proud to admit how wrong we all were.
