Dollywood is in Pigeon Forge, TN (where I once stayed, by choice!, overnight based solely on the town’s name). It’s a pretty gawdawful town of strip mall after strip mall, but we got a suite at a hotel next to a river for $35 a night (in 1997 dollars).

In Pigeon Forge, 1994, I had my first (few dozen) Krispy Kreme hot glazed, and also ate at Cracker Barrel for the first time. TN fed me well.
