While looking through Food from the 80’s, I stumbled across a Pepsi product I have no recollection of and don’t even remember hearing about after the fact: Pepsi A.M.. Most commenters at the site also have no recollection of it and indicate it may have only been regionally tested. The final comment on the page says that it was the same as regular Pepsi, but with more caffeine. PepsiCo was hoping you’d have a soda first thing in the morning rather than coffee.
Anyone ever try it out during its short life in 1989?

I remember that stuff – I think I may have even tried it. IIRC, it jacked up the caffeine in Pepsi to roughly Mountain Dew levels.

Exactly what has already been said – Same Pepsi taste, enough caffeine to kill a man in his 40’s.
At least it wasn’t Pepsi Kona.
