Cookbooks

We’ve talked about passed-down cookbooks in the past, but I’m wondering how many cookbooks Pingers actually own and – more importantly – how many you all actually use.

At the family ranch I’d say we have about a dozen cookbooks, but I refer to one or two somewhat regularly (and usually for special occasions.) All too often I look up a recipe on Epicurious. I’m not ashamed to admit I totally winged part of a dinner just a couple of weeks ago, and things came out totally great.

Wow. We own somewhere around a metric asston. Our entire top rack is vegan cookbooks, several dozen of them. Most come, these days, as review copies. Which is nice. And cheap.

But we use a lot, too. There are six or seven we use very regularly and another dozen that we use once every month or two.

I’ve got 300+. I don’t even bother to count any longer. How many to I USE??? None. How many have I looked through or read for ideas? Just about all of ’em.

What is this then?
