Good as Gold

It’s a common thing in Chicagoland: hearing the heartwarming news story about how at least one Salvation Army bucket had gold coins in it. As it turns out, this has been going on since 1982, with only a two-year break in 88 and 89. Every year, an anonymous donor contributes valuable gold coins to what is arguably one of the finest organizations around.

Interesting note: people have contributed rings and jewelry to the cause as well!

A complete story on the gold coins – along with the rings and jewelry – for your perusal. It’s interesting stuff. -pm
