While most of the classic shows that CBS has available online for viewing don’t interest me a whole lot, I’m definitely happy to see that they have over 60 episodes of Family Ties up. I maintain that while shows like Silver Spoon were goofy fun for my generation, Family Ties was a genuinely good show, perhaps one of the best sitcoms of the 1980s. It was smart, didn’t pander, and until Andy came along, was true to its roots.
And, since I know there’s nothing that you want more than to be able to watch TV without leaving the Ping, here’s a favorite episode courtesy of the magic of embedding.
Um… scratch that… so much for your dream.
Go watch this creepy episode instead.

There is a reason that it won three Emmy Awards in 1987. I recently finished rewatching the entire series, and there isn’t a bad episode in the bunch. The writing is great; the acting is even better; and it still holds up today.
