I’ve noticed that a lot of people have already gotten their hoilday decorations out and started putting them up (this person in my neighborhood had his lights up the first week of November). Me, I won’t even consider breaking out the decorations until the day after Thanksgiving, but I’m wondering if the stores starting their Christmas advertising in October is starting to have a real and concrete effect on the way we, as a culture, decorate our own homes.
What about you? Have you pulled out your tubs of decorations and pulled them closer to the basement stairs? Have you actually started decorating yet? Or won’t you bother until a week before Christmas?

I adhere to a strict one holiday at a time. I won’t even think about decorating for Christmas until after Tday. We usually do it that weekend after, but we have company this year so it might get pushed back a week.
