The UK-based director puts together touching, wonderfully constructed short documentaries that make both the normal and abnormal seem endlessly interesting. Here are a few to get you started:
- Last of the Conductors is a short piece about a bus conductor in London during the final few weeks before he’s made redundant by technology. The last shot of the movie hits you like a slap in the face.
- The Collector and Possessed both focus on obsessive hoarders. Incredibly sad.
I haven’t watched his other five films yet, but I’m looking forward to doing so.
