Upon re-noticing last night that Mad TV and Saturday Night Live both air starting at 11:30pm now (Mad TV used to start at 11), I got to wondering if any actors had ever been on both shows. I’m not talking about a guest host on Saturday Night Live that also cameoed on Mad TV, but rather, has a Saturday Night Live cast member ever appeared on Mad TV (or vice versa).
As far as five minutes of Googling can tell me, no.
However, there are three crew members that have worked on both shows (thanks to IMDB’s advanced search):
Robert Cohen has written for both shows. Marc Karzen did visual effects on Mad TV and worked in the Camera and Electrical Department on Saturday Night Live. Lastly, Carol Riggins was part of the mysterious “Miscellaneous crew” on both shows. I find Robert Cohen having written for both shows the most interestful.
