I have a talent that, originally, I thought everybody had. But that is apparently not the case, because people look at me like I’m a freak everytime it comes up…
I can walk into a house and tell if there’s a TV turned on several rooms away. Obviously, I don’t mean if something is actually playing on the TV — any dummy can do that! — I mean, if someone has the cable box off, but has left the TV on. I can hear the high pitched tone emitted by the TV (assuming it’s a CRT, of course).
Anyone else have this superpower?

I can do that when I’m in the same room or maybe one room away, but not several rooms away. You’re a mutant.

Yes, me too. I have supersonic hearing as well. I can hear things most cannot. I know others don’t have this but I do find it difficult because I hear so many things that are annoying that no one else hears. Hard to live in apartments – if you know what I mean. If I could find a job that would capitalize on this, I would be elated. Other than that . . . what do you do with it?????
