For the non-veggies and vegans in the audience: have you ever had the southern delight that is chicken and waffles?
I was a little scared but intrigued at first – I really wondered how the two could go together so well. But they do. The crunch and spiciness of the fried chicken is a nice contrast to the sweetness of the syrup-drenched waffles. I can’t say that it’s something I actively seek out, but it’s certainly something I’d eat given the chance.
Oh, and, Gladys Knight and Ron Wiman run a chicken and waffle joint.

I grew up eating chicken and waffles, but up her in PA Dutch country, it’s pulled chicken in gravy overtop the waffles.
Really.
Dave Walls, back me up on this!

I’ve had it twice. It’s okay, but as you say, nothing I would go out of my way for. JK’s version with gravy sounds much tastier to me, though!
