At work, I just got a new computer, which means I’m in the process of moving all my junk over from my old PC to my new one. I’ve done this a few times and I actually don’t mind it all that much. For one, it forces me to re-evaluate all the crap I have installed on my machine and decide whether it’s really worth re-installing. For b, it allows me to Google “(appnamehere) transfer to new computer” to find out how to move everything without losing my settings. I live for that sort of thing.
Right now, though, I’m at about 30%. So, I’ve got two computers sitting on my desk, with e-mail and IM on my new machine, but a bunch of work applications still on my old one. I’m glancing back and forth between monitors to make sure I don’t miss an important IM from Paul about how he’s really enjoying the Oreos he’s packed for lunch while typing random HTML tags into the other.
Like a wise man said: it’s a fresh start, a new heart, a brand new way of seeing things.

Have you looked into Synergy (synergy2.sourceforge.net)? One keyboard/mouse, N computer/monitor pairs — just scroll the mouse off one monitor and onto the other. I use it all the time at work, and find it very convenient.

belkin has a similar gizmo called omniview .. enabling you to switch pcs with just one screen, keyboard and mouse. Note: you have to get the switching unit and 2 sets of cables (to connect the 2 pcs to the unit).
