Scion introduced a concept car at the New York Auto Show yesterday and it is ugly. But here’s the thing: I think almost all of their cars are ugly and yet, I almost bought the Scion xB.
But the Hako Coupe concept has to take top honors for ugliness (right?) and yet, I find it slightly appealing. Don’t think of it as a coupe in the sense of a sporty 2-door; think of it as a truck-like thing. With 2-doors. And a side profile that looks like it was designed backwards.
Still, I give ’em credit for trying new things, instead of falling back on current trends.

Wasn’t it you who posted “I’m in love with a box?” The thing that has gotten me lately is Scion’s decision to make their cars much more agreeable to a broader spectrum of potential buyers.
They did, however, have that great “Love it or Loathe it” advertisement campaign. There are definitely no fence sitters in world when it comes to those seeing them pass by.
Ciao,
