No One Expects Organic Shirts at Target

They may be a giant, heartless corporation selling tons of Chinese-made goods but Target is my giant, heartless corporation selling tons of Chinese-made goods. Their latest victory in my mind isn’t the new toilet bowl cleaner from method (!) though… it’s a new line of organic shirts and shorts.

What’s so great about ’em? Well, organic cotton is pretty swell and the prints are made with non-toxic dyes. One shirt I bought was indeed made in China, the other in Bangladesh. 36 years ago, George Harrison helped bring attention to the problems in Bangladesh; now people there are making shirts for Target.

In any event, it’s nice to have options when it comes to this stuff and kudos to Target for making organic clothing more widely available.

I can’t wrestle down the image of an organic shirt. I keep seeing fields of smartly-dressed scarecrows.

What is this then?
