If tires weren’t required to make a car move forward, I’d be just as happy to do without them. On our Subaru wagon, we’ve had tire issues for the past seven months. It started with a flat and then moved onto a series of slow leaks that we’ve had examined, dunked, and “fixed” a total of eight times. And now we’ve got to do it again.
I’ve become obsessive about checking tire pressure on the Subaru since these problems have started. I check the Prius, too, but not as frequently since they have a dashboard alert when pressure goes below 75% of the recommended minimum. That’s one feature I wish every car had.
We totally need hovercars, and soon.

I’m not a big tire fan myself, but I am a dedicated customer of Discount Tire. If you are a customer, they rotate your tires and fix flats for free.
And even better, they fixed a flat (drywall screw) on my relatively new car with original factory tires for free. I thought I’d have to pay, but they said “Nope, you’re a customer”. Can’t beat that!
