Thom Mathews, a name that means nothing to most people, but to me, he’s the best unknown horror actor of the 1980s. Not only did he play a great Tommy Jarvis in Friday the 13th, Part 6, but he acted alongside James Karen twice in Return of the Living Dead and Return of the Living Dead 2 (as “Freddy” and then “Joey”). He played slightly psychotic characters with the right amount of over-the-top acting required for working with masked killers and punk rock zombies.
Thom is a friend of George Clooney’s and though they appeared on ER together once (apparently), they never appeared on The Facts of Life together. Thom now owns a construction company but every so often will pop up in a film.
Thom Mathews, this is for you. “But they smell so good… so spicy…“

Nice to see someone appreciate the fine role of Freddy on THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD. I found his acting perfect for the role-a newbie on the job.And hilarious when he called his boss an asshole!!!But I haven’t found any info on the supposedly true story behind the film. Have you?
