Hard Drive Space Check

Hard drives are getting stupid big and stupid cheap. That begs the question: how much storage do you have?

My laptop’s main drive is a paltry 160GB, and the house’s main backup drive is 250GB. That’s a measly 0.4TB.

I feel inadequate. Help.

My Work laptop – 75GB
Personal laptop – 60 GB
Son’s PC – 80 GB
Wife’s PC – 40 GB
Daughter’s PC – 40 GB
NAS Drive – 250 GB

.54 TB total

I have a 40GB drive and a 120GB drive in my desktop at home. Pretty sad, really. Since I don’t feel like reinstalling things, I’ve kept this two drive configuration since Windows 95. When I get a new drive, I just swap out the oldest and smallest one. One of these days when I get a real job, I’ll have to get a new drive. Since I don’t do as much PC gaming as I used to, I don’t necessarily need to upgrade anything else.

Home PC: 6G. But remember, it’s my old Win95 box. 😉

Home Mac Mini: 80G, still half free.

Flash drive: .5G.

So you shouldn’t feel inadequate. I just don’t feel a need to keep absolutely everything forever on my hard drive, and both archive things off and actively clean up space, just like in the old days. (My Start->Programs only has ten items in it as well, because I’ve subcategorized and dumped 90% of the tripe into a ‘Junk’ subdirectory)

What is this then?
