Making fun of summertime reality shows was passe three years ago, but a new one starts in a few weeks that promises to provide minutes of entertainment value, so it must be mentioned:
NBC’s The Singing Bee.
The idea: people don’t know the words to songs, so they sing them wrong on TV and people laugh hah-hah funny laughs. The competition is scored like a spelling bee. No word on how many homeschoolers are entering the competition (ducking COD’s punch).
Can I just tell you how much I’m looking forward to this show?
Opps. I meant, “Can I just tell you how much I’m looking forward to never ever watching this show?”

This looks horrible, indeed!
I’m more looking forward to “Scott Baio, He’s 45… and Single”.

Well, the show will feature hedonistic secular rock music that will put you on the road to hell just for lip syncing the words, let alone singing them. Probably won’t be many homeschoolers involved.
Anyway, the intersection of the reality show contestant and homeschooler sets seem to prefer Wife Swap. It’s a guaranteed $20K for a week of humiliation.

Wife Swap is the favorite of far right Christians, homeschoolers, and vegans.
And I love it.
