We’ve travelled a lot over the last two weeks and I noticed just near the end of it that during the trips, we watched almost zero TV. I watched one episode of The Wonder Years in Portland and a couple of episodes of The Office after getting home, but other than that, we’ve been completely away from the set for almost two straight weeks. It feels pretty good! Though, I admit, I’m still kind of itching to catch up on 24 (American Idol, not so much).
I suspect that Pingers are split evenly between “never watch TV” and “watch a lot of TV and I’m not ashamed.” What’s the longest you’ve gone without watching any TV, including the news?

2 years. We didn’t have a TV in Germany.

I didn’t own a TV from 1994-2000 (although there were periods where I had access to one, e.g. summer of 1996 when I subletted a place with a TV), and from about 1990-2006, I watched very little TV. In 2006, I became a raging TV maniac and now watch 2-3 hours a day Monday-Thursday, and occasionally take in a ball game or a race on the weekends. TV is what it is. It is cheap entertainment – nothing better, nothing worse.

I didn’t have a TV in 1999-2000. Actually I still don’t own a TV myself, but I’ve had roommates since then that have had a TV, so since 2000 there’s been one readily available. When I moved at the beginning of 2007, my roommate and I decided to not get cable. About the only regular TV I watch now are MotoGP races on my friend’s TV since the only other option is to download the video at a horrible ~120-pixel resolution.

Hola personas de la red box. Estoy muy contenta de su servicio ya que las peliculas son algo que me gusta mucho y gracias a ustedes tengo la posibilidad de alquilarlas pero ya en esta red box ya las he visto todas. Me gustarias poder tener mayor variedad. Quiero que me den mayor posibilidades de poder alquilar mayor numeros de pelicula y variadas.
