As you may or may not know, Dave Eggers and the folks behind McSweeney’s have set up a few writing schools for kids across the nation. The Chicago branch, 826CHI, is like the others in that it hides behind another storefront. It’s like a front, but without the… uh… frontness.
Some guy with a blog visited the store and posted photos and, I’ve got to say, it looks very very boring. In that special way.
While I looked through this I kept thinking that if I was a kid I would have loved a place like this. Who wouldn’t want to try on moustaches and learn about creative writing in the same place? Nice idea.
