Poor button placement

I use Thunderbird for work e-mail and generally, it works just fine. It handles IMAP better than any other client I’ve used and it has relatively powerful searching and filtering abilities.

One thing on it that kind of stinks, though, is the Bayesian junk mail filtering. It misses an awful lot, so I’m always clicking on the “Junk” button to train it by reclassifying messages. The problem is, the “Junk” button is right next to the “Print” button, which inevitably leads to me to frequently clicking on “Print” by accident. More than once I’ve actually clicked “OK” on the screen after that and actually printed the spam out. Great use of resources!

It might be worthwhile for them to move the “Junk” button all the way to the right.

That is all.

View -> Toolbars -> Customize.

You’re welcome.

I’ll go shut up now.

Right click on toolbar – customize. 1 click easier than Paul’s method.

Ah Yes, Thunderbird Client.

I began using it with version 0.7 and hung in through all the crash and trash. However, I reverted to Outlook Express.

Like most people, I have tried everything from Pegasus to Yahoo Mail and after all the dust settled, I returned to Outlook Express.

Of all the E-mail clients, I would have to say I like Poco Mail the best from every aspect. Problem is, it continually bounces mail and there doesn’t seem to be a solution. Even the company cannot seem to answer the question as to why it does so.

I would return to Poco Mail in an instant if they solved that problem.

Yes, you can slip the buttons around on T’Bird to suit your needs. By-the-way, has anyone ever figured out how to keep the text settings in Thunderbird? Mine always slipped back to the default.

I used Poco for years. Their inability to handle IMAP is what finally drove me away.

Another glitch in the program.

I never had a need to access the messages beyond my home/office computer, so I never experience the problem.

However, it would bounce messages, especially those from Australia. I/we looked at the server in Australia as a possible cause and found that wasn’t it. So, like yourself, I packed it in.

Outlook plays well with XP, as it should, so I will remain with it.

Thanks for the heads up on that issue.
