A F-Lock of Seagulls

I’ve got a very nice keyboard at work. Very nice. But the keyboard has one oddity: the F-Lock key.

It works the same way Caps Lock (no hyphen) does: when “on”, function keys work properly. What happens when F-Lock is off? Nothing. I think I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve pressed a function key after a reboot, seen nothing happen, and freaked out.

While my keyboard is a Logitech apparently Microsoft thinks F-Lock is cool, too. I think it’s lousy.

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
