There were rumors of a Ping book, but those were started on the internet.

Dumbest Ping Newbie Tactics

Given that Ryan and I have been running the USS Ping for many years now, we’ve seen a lot of tactics used in comments… mostly by people who feel a comment box is their unalienable right to free speech and every page on the Ping is us bashing Raven-Symone.

But I’ve got to say that my most favorite technique is the multiple replies in a row one. It’s great, because it looks suddenly like this new person who came out of nowhere has at least one supporter in the crowd. And it’s easy to do, too: post a message, say something lame (ie, “paul you sux”) and then post another message under a different name (“i agree with you d00d paul you sux”). Same style, same everything, same name. But little do they know that it’s trivial to look up the IP addresses in question and BOOM! Their little plan is foiled.

I can’t say I’ve seen this done with, say, one of Marcus’s posts though. That would be clever. Marcus writes an awesome 8-paragrapher (where are you, Marcus?) and “someone” totally agrees with a 5-paragrapher.
