The Daily Ping

This Ping redesign took 7 years and cost $58 million in taxpayer dollars.

Racing away

I ran my first 5k of the year this morning (hence the slightly late Ping) and did pretty well. Though I was about 30 seconds off my time from last year, I still had my best run of the year and kept an amazingly even pace, with my minutes/mile exactly the same for miles 1, 2, and 3. I even finished first in my age bracket, though I think there may have only been one other person in the bracket.

This particular race is a fun one because it’s very low-key and mellow. No fancy t-shirts here, only a pencil. Entry fee? $3. Prizes? Weird trophies. And best of all, the people are friendly. I haven’t run and really hardcore races yet, but I don’t really feel a burning desire to, either.

Any other runners (of any skill level) out in Pingland?

What is this then?

The Daily Ping is the web's finest compendium of toilet information and Oreo™® research. Too much? Okay, okay, it's a daily opinion column written by two friends. Did we mention we've been doing this for over ten years? Tell me more!
