There are a lot of places where one can go to make large files available to a group of people, some free like You Send It, some costing a little money (and being well worth it) like Box.net. But what if you just want to send one large file, up to 100 megs, to one person?
Dropload has been for a while now. It does one thing and it does it really well. You take a few seconds and sign up for an account (it’s really one of the shortest sign up processes I’ve ever participated in), upload your file, and specify the recipient. The recipient gets an e-mail with a link, they click it and download it. That’s it. The file then stays on the server for up to seven days and may be downloaded one time only by the recipient.
I like sites that keep it super simple, ones that pick a problem and solve it without any extraneous crap getting in the way. Hooray for Dropload.
