Air Mattress: The Way To Go

Back when I had my first apartment (actually, my only one) I bought myself a nice, firm mattress from IKEA. It was firm since I liked sleeping on a nice, firm mattress and the mattress I’d had when I lived with my parents was pretty much shot.

Of course things changed when I met the woman who would become my wife. She needed an ultra-soft mattress. So anytime we shared my mattress (or I hers, really) it wasn’t the most comfortable solution.

Back in 2002, we did a lot of research and decided to get an air mattress – like the Sleep Number – for our full-time mattress. We chose the Cerulean model from ComfortAire because they were essentially the same beds as Select Comfort’s Sleep Numbers but at a lower price.

That was three years ago, and now I can’t imagine not having an air mattress. The ability to adjust the firmness is a godsend: if one of our backs hurts, we can make our respective sides softer. And of course we can make things firmer too. The very first few nights were a little rough since we had to adjust to the correct air levels, but since then it’s been fantastic.

I know it sounds cheesy, but having a really good mattress is important. The ComfortAire helps us get a good night’s sleep, and we can’t imagine going back to anything else. So, rock on, air mattress!
