Nail Growth

I’ve always wondered (well, ok, not always, but at least since yesterday) exactly how quickly nails grow. Sure, I could have looked it up, but three weeks ago I had my nails painted by my niece and her friends at a birthday party, so I became well acquainted with nail polish remover and how it really doesn’t remove all the paint that gunks up around the cuticle.

So, nearly three weeks later, the former cuticle painline is still visible on my thumb, but about 1/8th of an inch higher, maybe a little less. According to Penlac, fingernails grow more quickly than toenails and will generally grow out fully in about six months (toenails take a year).

Now you know.
