Cosmic Bowling

When I was in high school, Cosmic Bowling?that is, bowlingwith crazy florescent lights, fog, and loud music?seemed like athing of the past, something kids in the 80s would enjoy. But morethan ten years later, it’s still going strong. In fact, I went cosmicbowling this past weekend and even though I’m a bowling purist (inother words, I use the loud music as an excuse for a bad cosmicbowling score), I still rolled a 173.

Something else that struck me: bowling “culture” really hasn’tchanged. All the same kids hang out at the bowling alley enjoying thesimilarly crappy music. And that’s probably a good thing… with allthat’s changed in the last ten years, it’s kind of nice to know thatbowling is still one of those so-uncool-its-cool things to do,complete with annoying florescent lights.
