So there are two versions of the smart cars coming to the US – although they’ll be a bit bigger than the smart cars sold abroad. Take a peek at the UK site. The cars themselves seem like great ideas: amazing gas mileage, great visibility, big-feeling interior, removable plastic panels on the outside (for customization)… my only concern is of course that the Hummer line of vehicles exists. These things are damned small.
There are obviously safety features in place – these cars are highly rated overseas – but I don’t know if I could shake the idea of running up against a big, honking SUV in it.
