If you have Verizon DSL and you’ve forgotten your password, it may be located in a plaintext HTML file located at C:/Program Files/Verizon Online/VOLSW/AccInfo.HTML.
I found this out because as I was setting up my router, I realized I needed to know my Verizon password, one that I had only typed once a year-and-a-half ago right before clicking “save password” on the login application. I had to resort to doing a full search of all my hard drives for my account name. I found a few references in other files where the password had been stored in an encrypted format, but I was mildly shocked to find my user name, password, e-mail address, and mail servers all listed in an HTML file on my hard drive. Nice to know the information is kept secure. Sheesh.
