If you’re trying to figure out how many days are in a month, but don’t have a calendar handy, what’s your preferred method? Do you use the familiar poem or the knuckle method (see the “Manual Calculation” section). I use the knuckle method, something I remember learning in elementary school, although I use both hands next to each other rather than starting over on the original hand.
